USC launches first FinTech course at a major U.S. University
Recognizing the explosive growth of FinTech, the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business is taking the lead in launching the first comprehensive FinTech course at a major U.S. university. Topics will include the emerging model in alternative lending and the use of data/algorithms, bank disintermediation through marketplace lending, new methods of equity raising, blockchain technology, innovative payment solutions, and the trends affecting wealth management services. Leading FinTech executives are aligned as guest speakers to share their perspectives about the future of the industry. While other top U.S. universities provide exposure to the space including the MIT’s FinTech conference, Berkeley’s course on payments, and Wharton’s FinTech student organization, I feel particularly fortunate to be involved with USC’s initiative, which is at the forefront of FinTech education.
